HOW TO USE TIGER BALM® PRODUCTS

Everyone knows that little pot of balm with its unmistakable smell and hot/cold sensation when applied. You know the one? TIGER BALM®! TIGER BALM® is an ancestral treatment that has been around for over a century, and now comes in different products, each one with its own particular use.

How are they used? What effects do they have? We explain all!But that's not all, Léonie Périault, expert triathlete and member of the France national team, tells us how she uses the TIGER BALM® products and shares her tips for recovery!

1. RED TIGER BALM®

a. Ingredients

Red TIGER BALM® is made of plants and essential oils.

Its unique smell comes from the mix of camphor and menthol, two ingredients with relaxing and anaesthetic properties which, when used during a massage, give a feeling of well-being.

It also contains other essential oils, such as cajeput, mint, clove, and cinnamon.

b. Use

Red TIGER BALM® is applied to the skin and aids massage while providing a feeling of well-being.

Léonie Périault, expert triathlete and a member of the France national team, uses it in her training: “It's a great way to warm up at the beginning of the day, as the warming sensation gently wakes me up.”. Expert advice!

2. WHITE TIGER BALM®

a. Ingredients

White TIGER BALM® is made of camphor, menthol and clove essential oil.

b. Use

White TIGER BALM® provides a feeling of well-being when used during a massage. It can be used to massage the chest and temple.

Léonie also likes using it after her training sessions: “I use it in the evening during dynamic end-of-day massages. It gives a cooling sensation, and a feeling a well-being to get a great start for the next day's training session, especially during the summer when it's really hot and I have heavy legs”

3. NECK & SHOULDER RUB

a. Ingredients

The Neck & Shoulder rub is principally made of camphor, menthol and eucalyptus globulus essential oil.

b. Use

The Neck & Shoulder rub eases tension and fatigue in the back of the neck and shoulders thanks to the massage action. It also helps to soften the skin.

It is non-greasy and easy to apply: ideal to have at home, at work or with you on long car journeys. Always have some in your bag!

4. TIGER BALM® PATCH

a. Ingredients

The TIGER BALM® patch is made of camphor, menthol, and eucalyptus and mint essential oils.

b. Use

You put the patch on sore areas, making sure it is firmly positioned on the skin. You will feel a pleasant cooling sensation when it's applied.

You should leave the patch applied for eight hours. During this time, it will soothe fatigue and muscle stiffness in the shoulders and back, or you can use it locally on a specific muscle.

Please note: the patch can only be used once!

Léonie loves using the patch: “It's the range's star product (...) I use it in the evening before going to bed, it's elastic and therefore very handy because you can stretch it across the painful area. I leave it on throughout the night, and any small aches and pains are usually gone in the morning."
